Kambo is a powerful traditional medicine derived from the secretion of the Phyllomedusa bicolor (Giant Monkey Tree Frog), native to the Amazon rainforest. Used for centuries by indigenous tribes such as the Matsés and Katukina, Kambo is regarded as both a physical and spiritual cleanser — a potent ally in detoxification, energetic clearing, and immune system support.
In the Amazon, it is known as “Hunting Magic,” used by warriors to enhance strength, focus, and resilience. Today, Kambo is emerging as a respected alternative therapy in the West, supporting deep inner work, detoxification, and holistic healing.
The medicine is first dried onto a wooden stick and then rehydrated with water or saliva. Once prepared, small superficial burns are made on the skin to gently expose the dermis. The medicine is applied directly onto these points, where it enters the lymphatic system and bloodstream almost immediately.
Within 30–60 seconds, you may feel a warm wave moving through your body, often accompanied by a racing heartbeat, facial flushing, and slight swelling in the throat or lips. These are normal, temporary effects as the body begins to respond to the medicine.
Kambo initiates a powerful purge — a release of physical, emotional, and energetic toxins. This may include:
This process is not considered “getting sick,” but rather getting well — an intense but short-lived reaction that typically lasts 10 to 30 minutes. Afterward, many people report a profound sense of relief, mental clarity, and emotional lightness.
Following your session, it’s important to rest and hydrate, allowing your body and mind to process the experience. While the peak effects fade quickly, the internal shifts can unfold over hours or days.
We recommend allowing at least 2 hours post-treatment for integration and reflection.
Traditionally, Kambo is used to:
In modern practice, Kambo may support:

NüNü comes from the Matses tribe, it is a sister medicine to Kambo and a visionary snuff used to ground, aid in focus, clarity, and for the Matses in their hunt to connect with the spirits of the animals and the jungle. It is a very special and potent medicine made from Mapacho leaves (tobacco) and combined with ashes of the Mocambo tree bark (Cacao) which are toasted, crushed, and finely powdered. Other Rapé varieties are available which also come from different tribes of the Amazon, each having its use and benefit during the ceremony.
